can I upgrade from atom 230 processor to core 2 quad processor?
My husband bought the acer desktop way cheap (Acer Aspire Revo AR1600-U910H Mini Desktop PC - Intel ATOM N230 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, HDMI, Windows XP Home). Now that we have it and it is really slow, I would like to upgrade the processor. Would any one know what would be the best upgrade for this? or HOw will I find out whether I will be able to upgrade this with Intel Core 2 quad processor? or later generations? Please help
you cant, there different chipsets for one thing, but atom processors are soldered on the motherboard. not to mention, your computer would burn to pices becasue the fans on the computer are built for the very cool atom, not the hot core 2 duo. (and it wouldn't fit in the case)
