where can i get some proper high quality 'green fairy' absinthe ?
what brands of absinthe are best to buy ? what are the different strengths and alcohol content, how do you know ? i have a feeling its illegal in the UK, any websites that sell good absinthe ? i don't want to buy some weak, rip off absinthe, i want the good stuff 
any advice would be greatly appreciated cheers !
Absinthe is not illegal in the UK. The La Fee range - La Fee Parisienne, Suisse XS and Bohemian - is widely available and very good. You will find a wide selection at http://www.eabsinthe.com as well.

Do not forget that all absinthe is very high proof and is a concentrate. It must be mixed with water at a ratio of between 1:4 - 1:5. This releases the herbal oils and creates a clouding called a louche. Do not drink absinthe as a shot or you might regret it.
Absinthe comes in two varieties - artisanal and oil mix. Oil mix is basically high proof alcohol mixed with a wormwood essence and artisinal is distilled using fresh herbs. Artisanal is best but more expensive.
